We live in a day and age where anyone with a cellphone and a built-in camera thinks they’re a photographer.

Go to any concert, and you’ll see a sea of fans with their cellphones in the air, aiming to get the perfect shot of their favorite artist’s performance, just to share with their Instagram followers.

But glance towards the front of the stage, and there’s usually a media pit. That area is reserved for the professionals. The photographers with their $20,000 worth of camera equipment, looking to get the “shot” to share with their respective platforms and audiences. These concert photographers aren’t household names, but they produce outstanding imagery for the culture, and we salute them.

7 of Our Favorite Concert Photographers:

Ravie B.

Raven B. aka Ravie B. has been on the scene for years getting your favorite artist’s good side. From hitting the road with Future to Jay-Z’s 4:44 tour to the Carters’ On The Run Tour, Ravie is your favorite rapper’s favorite tour photographer.

Greg Noire

You’ll be hard pressed to find a concert photographer with cleaner images than Greg Noire. The Houston, TX-based photographer has taken photos of almost every artist in the game, and his signature black & white images are the go-to look for his stellar portfolio.

Prince Williams

Anyone who’s been to a concert, club, or event in Atlanta has been photographed by ATLpics.net founder Prince Williams, and probably has a photo with the ATLpic watermark on their social media page. If there’s a big concert, Williams is there to shoot the biggest artists performing in Atlanta.

Lenny S.

For Roc Nation executive Lenny Santiago, photography is just a hobby. But SVP status gives him an all-access POV that the most seasoned photographers aren’t afforded. As the music executive behind We The Best, Dreamvile, Dream Chasers and other music Roc Nation affiliate imprints, more often than not you’ll find Lenny S. onstage getting exclusive shots at the biggest concerts. Side Note: The Kodaklens Office Instagram is a thing of beauty.

Sickamore

Sickamore is another music executive with a photography cheat code. As the A&R executive behind acts like Travis Scott, YG and Sheck Wes, Sickamore’s VIP access and penchant for picking up the camera gives him some of the best concert images around.

Julia Beverly

As the founder and former chief editor of Southern rap publication, OZONE Magazine, “JB” is a mainstay in hip-hop culture. The Atlanta based influencer always has her camera on her and catches every major concert coming through the ATL.

Thaddaeus McAdams

As an award-winning photographer and owner of the popular photography event website, Exclusiveaccess.net, Thaddaeus McAdams’ work is all over the Internet. McAdams has toured with Young Jeezy and Rick Ross, and there aren’t many places to find great concert photography other than Exclusiveaccess.net.
