Businessman, media mogul, media personality, and a five-time New York Time’s best-selling author, Gary Vaynerchuk (Vee for short) is the millennial advocate. In a time when the internet has birthed a generation of digital natives, who want the fame, money, and the glory, Vee has been able to secure their loyalty. As a millennial whisperer, Vee speaks the language, lives the dream, yet wraps it up in hardcore facts about the entrepreneur mindset. “Work, that’s how you get it,” is one of Vee’s many memorable quotes.

Vee immigrated to New York City with his family in 1978 from Belarus. Saying he’s always had an entrepreneurial mindset, Vee sold tens of thousands of dollars in baseball cards and toys while in high school. As an adult, Vee worked at his dad’s liquor shop. At that time, he discovered the vast opportunities the fairly new internet could offer. Vee transformed the business into one of the first e-commerce platforms for alcohol in the country yielding tremendous growth. He renamed the business “Wine Library” and grew the business from $3-60MM in sales during his time. He also launched the business’s YouTube channel “WineLibraryTV” in 2006,  producing an episode almost every day for five years.

Vee now has his own incredibly successful and inspiring social media channels (YouTube – 1.9 million subscribers, Instagram  5.1 Million followers) in which he drops tips and business advice literally every few minutes to help his followers become better business people. Regardless of your line of work, Vee touts the importance of hard work – forget flossing for the gram to be someone you’re not. “ There’s a lot of things I wish I was, but I just don’t lie to myself. I think lying to yourself has held back a lot of people from bigger upside,” he writes on his IG account.

Followers who have the pleasure of catching one of his Instagram Lives can request to chat with him in front of other viewers and get their personal questions answered. His loyal followers can also catch him at keynotes across the country, even speaking at ComplexCon to sneakerheads, hip hop enthusiasts, and entrepreneurs alike. At the heart of it all, Vee doesn’t care what obstacles are in his followers’ way, he encourages them to stop the excuses and boss up! And for those who think they’re too old to start, Vee says to “You’ve got f*cking time. It’s a balance of regret and patience.” He also says, “Stop doing sh*t you hate.” See, no excuses! It’s this sort of harsh delivery that captures the attention of an institutionalized OCD-ridden generation.

Vee also serves as a partner in the athlete representation agency VaynerSports, cannabis-focused branding and marketing agency Green Street and restaurant reservations app Resy.
