When it comes to gospel music, the Winans family reigns supreme! With their rich harmonies and dynamic vocal blends, the Detroit natives refined the genre and ushered black church music into the mainstream.
Since Marvin, Carvin, Michael, and Ronald Winans first burst on the scene as “The Winans” in the early 1980’s, the Winans family dynasty has expanded into virtually every facet of the entertainment industry – working with world renowned artist across multiple genres, winning numerous GRAMMY’s, and paving the way for a new generation of Winans to take flight.
Son of gospel greats, Marvin L. Winans and Vickie Winans, Marvin Winans Jr., has taken that legacy and created his own. An heir to this spectacularly talented lineage, the 38-year-old singer/producer first began wowing audiences at age 5. He’s been singing, writing, and producing songs ever since.
Just a side note… these were my favorites though!!! Lol!! The Winans!! I watched in awe as my dad would hop across the stage singing! He didn’t make singing gospel feel any different than any other music! The Winans were BEASTS!!!!!! As a kid I actually felt a little sad when they would lose an award to or not sell as many albums as my own aunt and uncle Bebe and Cece!! ? Sounds crazy but I ALWAYS wanted them to be on top!! I was and I guess still am a FAN!!! Thanks to The Winans (Dad, Uncle Butch, Uncle Mike and Uncle Ronald) for being SO good and truly establishing my ear for good music!!! This laid the foundation for a very important part of my life… WP2! #happybirthdaytome #happymemories #38
